Hope you then served them up fried on a slice of toast as in the old days. Used to watch my next door neighbour castrating piglets and throwing the bits to the waiting cats and dogs!

Stick a label to him saying "if I'm in your garden it's your fault!"

Best of luck with the new field.

The law says that if you make no effort to keep livestock out it's your fault if they get in - learnt that one the hard way when a dozen bullocks got in my garden when the postman left the gate open........

For goodness sake! How can you live there and not like sheep?!! It's a bit like moving to Heathrow and complaining about aircraft noise!

Seriously, it must be really difficult to keep on good terms with neighbours like that - suppose you've tried the lamb chops for their freezer thing?

Scots Dumpy I gave to....?

I gave Louie to Paula Seaman who lives in Norfolk and I thought was a Poultry Keeper Forum member but I can't find her. I'd love to know how he is doing and if he is a "dad" now.

Have you tried the anti-peck spray for cage birds? It might do the trick.

Use them as a last resort, but try interesting them in something. Hang some spring greens or similar in their pen for them to peck at or put in several turfs soil side up for them to scratch at. Occasionally, feather pecking can be a sign of low protein in the diet (Don't tell anyone on this site, b...

Sorry, now I read that post again it just looks like I'm showing off

Have loved Vorwerks since forever, but never heard anyone in this country say the name, so guessed it must be "Forverk"

White silkies are really good mums and go broody at the drop of a hat. I now have a pair of golden silkies and while she still goes broody about every 8 weeks, the hen is not a good mum!

Mites that live in hay are not the same as poultry mites. Hay mites crawl all over you (and hens) but I don't think they bite or suck blood like poultry mites do. The bright red mites that walk about in the soil and on walls etc don't do anything harmful as far as I am aware. They are red all the ti...

Incidentally, I discovered when during a weekend and unable to get Ficam W that for an emergency treatment, 3 in 1 oil seems to kill mites. I have tried WD40 after someone suggested it, but 3 in 1 works better.
