Does this chicken have coccidiosis?

Just took this photo. It's from one of my chickens but I don't know which one. It's the first time I've seen blood in the poo. The blood was in a clot and I squashed it to see if it was blood.

Re: Sick chicken

No I haven't been to the vet yet. My local pet shop gave it me to try first as I was desperate to try and get her to live.

Re: Sick chicken

Her crop is empty, you can't feel anything in there. That's what I first thought when I saw her ruffled up. I wondered if it was like cankers, is that the one that has sores in the throat?

My pullet has been laying for a month now and I've just had her on a 3 day course of doxycycline because one of my flock fell ill and I thought they should have a dose as well. Anyway, while she was on the course and 72 hours after she had finished her course I threw her eggs away but she laid yeste...

Re: Lime

Thanks soufle. It's not hydrated I know that. Well I think I am going to lose my bit of grass, oh well my chickens health comes first!! So I can sprinkle it on top and water over it or would it be better to dig it into the ground? Today I have made an extra run where my girls will have their own bit...

Thanks Diane. I did notice one of the girls was a bit loose in her poo. Today I've only put cabbage up and will alternate it each day.

Re: Anyone raised quail?

Hi we had Chinese painted quails and they reared their own young. I have them chick crumb right up until they were old enough to go onto layers. As above you don't really need to worry about humidity if the eggs are put under a broody hen.

Re: What age

Thank you Diane. How often should I feed greens? I only have a 6ftx6ft piece of grass and it's being kept short by my chickens otherwise they don't get no more grass so I have been feeding greens everyday all day. Do you think it is too much? They are having carrot tops ,spinach, brocolli, cauliflow...

Lime

Hi. Agricultural lime? How is it used? Do I just sprinkle it inside my coop and leave it? Also do I sprinkle it in the run and turn it over? Are my chickens ok to have contact with it straight away? Can I use it on my grass or would that be a waste of time? I want to try and keep my small bit of gra...

When I picked them up the owners said they were on layers pellets but they aren't even layers yet. My Colombian black tail is the only girl showing signs of becoming a l...
